I needed a new holder for pot pouri in the conservatory and remembered making them out of paper when I was a child, my gran taught me how and I made loads for Christmas presents one year. They can be made in all sorts of sizes and you can use everything from newspaper to cardstock.

I managed to find some instructions here http://howaboutorange.blogspot.com/2009/06/newspaper-basket.html

I am making one with old patterned paper that I will probably not use for scrapping. Newspaper is ...

OK so I have a cheat sheet, this is the only sheet I have that isn't Christmas themed and I can also make use of this on a card.

This technique can be used for any image that has possible layers. I think you will see what I mean with the example.

This first one shows the whole sheet and I am going to use the top right images. There are 4 in the set.

This one is the base image. If I were doing a set from the start I would use 3 or 4 of this image, depending on how many ...

This is something I've put together for my Mom and thought I'd share for anyone who might be interested in this sort of thing. But first a few comments...

There are a couple of ribbons missing so I was originally going to get replacements and transfer everything to a new board. Eventually I decided to simply leave it as it was.

So here is a picture of the shadow box I put together for my Mom to give to her on Christmas.

It's a picture of my Dad in 1950. He's wearing an ...

Here's on of mine I've been working on for quite awhile now. And it's finally almost finished. It's a British Police Box. In truth it's a Tardis from Doctor Who, specifically it's a 60s/80s hybrid but that probably would only matter to a Doctor Who fan.

Total height so far is just about 13 inchces tall. And here it is...

Here is the frame that I designed for my sister & hubby. I bought a 6X12 frame at WM to put it in. It is all done in text boxes in word so I could do different sizes with the letters and off set them. Lisa Bearnson had something similar on her blog.

I have the word file...if anyone wants the template & has a 6 letter last name, it would be easy to change the name & year. I'll be happy to email it to you. It's a quick & inexpensive present!
